Job summary
Responsible for the day to day operation of the Nuclear Medicine and Radium service based at the Wirral and Liverpool site and line management of the staff in the area.
Acting as specialist adviser to the radiology management team in your area of expertise.
Main duties of the job
To provide professional clinical leadership for Nuclear Medicine Gamma Camera (including SPECT-CT) and therapeutic unsealed radiopharmaceuticals.
To maintain a high quality, smooth running and cost effective Nuclear Medicine service through effective management of staff and facilities and innovate use of available resources.
To initiate and implement policy and service development in the field of Nuclear Medicine.
Operational responsibility for the delivery of the Nuclear Medicine service and line manager for the Nuclear Medicine departmental staff.
To actively contribute and support the Radiology Senior Managers in the delivery of an efficient, highly skilled and patient focused service, providing specialist advice.
To provide staff with training and knowledge to fulfil the requirements of the service, promoting an ethos of lifelong learning and continuous professional development and to lead by example.
To undertake personal appraisal and development reviews (Appraisal) for the Gamma camera team.
To act as RPS for the area.
Maintain comprehensive records and working towards maintaining accreditation standards.
Perform all aspects of Nuclear Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
