Job summary

The Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance leads the local delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan ambitions for cancer to transform services and improve outcomes for patients.

As the Community Delivery Lead you will be part of the timely presentation programme within the Alliance and our focus is on: More people coming forward with signs and symptoms of cancer More people taking up the offer of national screening programmes.

This is a genuinely ground breaking piece of work, with significant scope to grow and develop the reach and impact on our communities.

The Community Delivery Lead will provide project management and leadership to drive the delivery of the programme objectives in accordance with the aims and ambitions of the Cancer Alliance. The role will require excellent organisation and communication skills and close working with stakeholders including the voluntary sector, charities, marketing agencies, commissioners, patients and carers.

The post holder will work alongside colleagues at all levels including senior clinicians, Social Action Leads, executives, project managers and teams across Cheshire and Merseyside. Most work is carried out virtually, however some travel across the regions for face-to-facework is required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide leadership, quality improvement and project management skills of our community partnership programme.

With a focus on ensuring that we work in partnership to deliver the best to our population in Cheshire and Merseyside.

The post holder will be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a high performing team, building strong working relationships and partnerships to work effectively with the social action leads who engage with grass route community organisations, our Council for Voluntary services Chief Executives who manage our contract and other external partners across Cheshire and Merseyside, commissioners, NHS England, regulators, members of the public, patients, and carers to deliver project objectives. The post holder will be required to consistently operate with political awareness and personal influence, representing CMCA at various Cheshire and Merseyside wide forums where required, including public meetings and will act in an autonomous capacity.

There is the opportunity for hybrid working; at home and/or with days in our offices on the Wirral and/or in Liverpool City Centre.

  • Effectively utilise a range of IT office systems including MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, spreadsheets and web browser technologies
