Main duties of the job
- Review, develop, deliver and promote efficiency and stability across the Server and Applications estate are protected and secured.
- Act as a subject matter expert/technical lead for designing and implementation of the Server and Applications , ensuring the environments (live, test) is optimal at all times by monitoring and tuning the database environment, to ensure system integrity and performance.
- Develop and apply specialist knowledge in Server and Application environments, acting as an SME ensuring all environments are maintained with the agreed service levels ensuring availability, capacity, resilience and security.
- Analyse, troubleshoot, respond to and resolve Server and Application problems and complex issues to ensure system availability and that application and system outages, downtimes and slowdowns are resolved as quickly as possible to provide the service back to staff.
- Assist in establishing policies and procedures pertaining to the management, security, maintenance and use of the systems.
- Assist on the technical aspects of Server and Application related projects to ensure delivery within time, budget and quality, including raising any risks/issues with proposed mitigations.
- Responsible for performing software installation and configuration tasks including
- liaison with third party support where necessary to complete the work successfully.

- Relevant Microsoft Certified Professional modules or Technical Degree qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continual professional IT development with attendance at appropriate technical courses
- Minimum 5 years' experience within an IT Server Support environment or similar

- Should have achieved Advanced European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
