The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire.
Our flagship specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool opened in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral.
Main duties of the job
The Clatterbridge Liverpool
The working hours are 9am-5pm Monday - Friday, working 5 days a week.
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work alongside and support our research chemotherapy chemotherapy delivery team. The post provides support to Registered Research Nurses and other members of the multi-professional team to deliver nursing care and treatment within our clinical trials delivery team out-patient chemotherapy environment.
The Clinical Trials Support Worker role also involves the undertaking of clerical duties; providing hands-on care, assistant and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performing phlebotomy, performing observations T.P.R. BM urinalysis, care of central lines, cannulation and maintain documentation.
The post will also be responsible for obtaining blood results. There is an element of housekeeping, which involves ordering stock, keeping the unit clean and tidy and providing refreshments to patients. Excellent communication skills are essential and cannulation experience is required.
The Trust takes an active responsibility for ensuring systems, policies and processes are in place to safeguard Children, young people and Adults, supporting the national and local agenda around safeguarding, including local arrangements for the protection of children young person and adults at risk.
