An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hybrid Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Immunotherapy and SACT team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. This role is based at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool, however you will be required to travel between our network hospital sites, with all expenses covered. This is a unique position with the post holder supporting the Immunotherapy team and SACT delivery nurse led services for patients receiving treatment with Immunotherapy and SACT.
You should possess excellent communication and advanced clinical skills, be highly motivated and ideally have a back ground in cancer nursing. Recent experience in working within the specialty of Immunotherapy would be desirable, however training will be provided. You will need to be resilient to cope with the demands of the role and the service need.This is a really exciting time to work within the specialism of cancer nursing and SACT delivery.The post holder will provide specialist advice and support to patient's experiencing the side effects associated with immunotherapy/SACT, as well as providing education and support to staff throughout the trust.
Main duties of the job
This is a role that offers both collaboration and flexibility. One element of the role is working with the Immunotherapy (IO) Toxicity service which is a regional pan-tumour service supporting patients with immune related adverse events secondary to oncological immunotherapy. The team support both inpatients and outpatients following the identification of irAEs and work alongside the patients' primary oncology teams to support patients throughout their toxicity journey. The team take referrals from across the region and provide digital and face to face monitoring for patients throughout their toxicity treatment.
In addition to this the team co-ordinate and support the delivery of day case management including IV methylprednisolone and Infliximab and deliver acute reviews in the central Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU).
In addition the team collaborates with a medical specialties to coordinate the management of complex toxicities. There are established referral pathways for investigations including endoscopy and cardiac MRI. The team also provide region wide education to both oncology and non-oncology teams.
As a hybrid role, the additional component is supporting the SACT delivery, working along side the nursing teams to support the management of SACT toxicities. Whilst providing education and training for the nursing team.
