Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Sonographer who can provide professional clinical and operational leadership for the Ultrasoundservice at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
There will be an expectation to work across two of our Clatterbridge Sites - Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool and Paddington Community Diagnostic Centre on a shift pattern between the hours of 08:00-18:00 Monday to Saturday (including Bank Holidays).
Main duties of the job
Manage and lead the Ultrasound service on both Liverpool sites. Provide support for the remaining service leads and deputies to ensure the smooth running of the service on a day-to-day basis.
Undertake specialised imaging within any of the diagnostic departments,appropriate to knowledge, training and planned development. This should be carried out according to the competencies at this level.
Assist in the management of workflow and ensure that all data inputs are recorded for patient record integrity, statistical evaluation purposes and evidence of compliance with standards.
Adapt planned schedules according to circumstances when required e.g. if emergency requests are made, etc. Organise and manage the workflow in the department for which they are responsible and remaining site in collaboration with the remaining Radiology teams.
Participate in the education of other groups of staff as part of a course of study, professional development or an induction process, to ensure a wide knowledge of the role of Radiology within the patient journey. Support the training of student Radiographers and others rotating through the department.
Ensure that the general cleanliness and tidiness of the department is maintained. Reporting estate and equipment faults as appropriate. Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Produce business cases for new equipment and service development. Procurement of new equipment.
