Job summary

The role of Interoperability and Integration Manager will be responsible foranalysing the specific needs and requirements of Trusts in terms of theintegration of healthcare data internally within organisations, and acrossTrusts via health economy wide initiatives. The role will ensure the approach taken to integrate information between systems and Trusts is strategically aligned to ensure the development approach allows information to be shared in a structured format. The role must ensure individual requirements are assessed & accurately documented. The resulting interface and implementation will then be designed, developed, tested and deployed ensuring Trust engagement throughout the process.The role is also responsible for the on-going management, maintenance andsupport levels for developed interfaces. The role will monitor interfaces,gathering statistics on messaging levels and will undertake incidentmanagement processes when necessary and will liaise with 3rd party suppliers as is relevant.The Integration Manager will work with a range of senior stakeholders (both internal and external) to ensure that interface priorities are understood and aligned to deliver trust strategies.The role will have line management responsibility for the Integration andDatabase Administration Teams.The role will be integral to the success of the digital strategy and will have responsibility for the Integration &Interoperability workstream and associated projects.

  1. System Integration Oversight:

    • Lead and oversee the integration of diverse healthcare systems, including electronic health records (EHRs), patient management systems.
    • Ensure seamless data exchange and communication channels between integrated systems.
  2. Interoperability Standards Development:

    • Establish and maintain interoperability standards governing how healthcare systems interact and share data.
    • Ensure compliance with national and international standards such as HL7 and FHIR to guarantee compatibility and consistency across the NHS.
