Senior Transformation Managers - Band 8A 1.0 WTE fixed term post for 23 months (secondments welcomed)
Main duties of the job
The Senior Transformation Manager will provide leadership and project management skills to support the planning, implementation and delivery of key transformation programmes and projects within the areas of living with and beyond cancer, urgent care and treatment variation to enable delivery of the Cancer Alliance objectives and priorities.
About us
The Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance leads the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) ambitions for cancer across our local system. The Cancer Alliance provides system oversight and co-ordination for cancer services through collaboration with partners with the aims of improving outcomes for patients and improving performance against key operational standards.
The LTP sets ambitious plans for cancer including the commitment to ensure a significant increase in the proportion of people diagnosed at an early stage. In addition to this overarching commitment to improve early detection, the LTP includes major themes around faster diagnosis, treatment, personalised care, workforce and performance.
To enable the Cancer Alliance to lead the way forward and deliver the best cancer outcomes for our population we need to expand our team. Working with established clinical leadership forums and local partners, our core Alliance team needs additional enthusiastic and skilled people to help us in delivering best practice, value and experience for patients.

Job responsibilities
The Senior Transformation Manager will provide leadership and project management skills to support the planning, implementation and delivery of key transformation programmes and projects within the areas of living with and beyond cancer, urgent care and treatment variation to enable delivery of the Cancer Alliance objectives and priorities.
The post holder will lead a team of project and specialist staff and line manage project managers and project support staff within the Cancer Alliance team.
The Senior Transformation Manager will be senior members of the Cancer Alliance team. They will be required to consistently operate with political awareness, personal influence and skill, working effectively with external partners across Cheshire and Merseyside including providers, commissioners, NHS England, regulators, patients and carers to deliver project objectives.
The post holders will represent the Cancer Alliance at various Cheshire and Merseyside wide forums, including public meetings and will act in an autonomous capacity.
The Cancer Alliance is hosted by The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust.

- Masters Level Qualification or equivalent management experience
- Project management qualification (e.g. Prince 2) or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Expertise
