Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) are offering a 23 month fixed term contract for a full time Band 6 role (£35,392 - £42,618) with the opportunity for hybrid working; at home and/or with days in our offices on the Wirral and/or in Liverpool City Centre?
Join CMCA in the exciting role of Senior Project Support Officer supporting the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan ambitions for cancer across our local system.
We are looking for a positive and creative self-starter with the ability to build and develop strong collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders across organisational boundaries to influence change.
The role will aim to facilitate and support a coordinated effort to improve survival outcomes and experiences through earlier diagnosis, better treatment and the appropriate support for patients.
The team consist of Primary Care Cancer Engagement Managers, a Senior Project Support Officer and 9 GP cancer leads covering early cancer diagnosis in Primary Care who you will work closely with.

Main duties of the job
The Cheshire and Merseyside (C&M)Cancer Alliance leads the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan ambitions for cancer across our local system. The Cancer Alliance (CA) provides system oversight and co-ordination for cancer services through collaboration with partners with the aims of improving outcomes for patients and improving performance against key operational standards.
The role also involves communicating between primary care and the Cancer Alliance and, in partnership with our learning platform Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Academy, delivering cancer education for primary care colleagues.
The Senior Project Support Officer will project manage and lead system wide change to facilitate delivery of CA objectives and priorities identified within NHS England's Long Term Plan.
The Senior Project Support Officer will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and delivery of key complex projects of differing cancer related specialisms across organisations in all sectors across C&M.
The role will require project management abilities and close working with external partners to deliver programme objectives in accordance with the aims and ambitions of the CA.
The post holder will represent the CA at project operational groups in C&M. They will work alongside colleagues at all levels including Clinicians, Executives, Project Managers and teams across C&M.
