As Divisional Nursing Director, you will be the operational clinical lead for the nursing workforce in the Division. You will lead the Division's clinical governance functions, championing quality and safety and working closely with the Divisional Medical Director and Divisional Director in the leadership of Divisional Strategy.
In this role you will also be part of the corporate nursing leadership for the Trust taking on key Trustwide responsibilities on behalf of the Executive Chief Nurse.
This role will deputise in the absence of the Deputy Director of Nursing and will be required to participate in an on call rota
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the Divisional Director, Associate Medical Director and Executive Chief Nurse you will be accountable for providing a high level of professional, operational and transformational leadership across the Division and wider Trust. You will have operational accountability for the Division's nursing workforce.
As a highly experienced and credible senior nurse, you will be responsible for driving excellent professional standards and leading improvements to deliver high standards of care whilst role modelling the Trust's values.
You will provide professional nursing expertise and advice on operational and strategic management issues regarding quality and governance for the Division and across the Trust.
The Divisional Nurse Director will form part of the corporate nursing resource holding a portfolio of responsibility to be managed Trust wide reporting to the Executive Chief Nurse.
- To support the Chief Nurse/Deputy Director of Nursing in the delivery of the Trusts Nursing/Quality strategy.
- To provide managerial, operational and professional leadership to the Divisional Nursing Team.
- Responsible for the development and application of systems, control processes and risk management arrangements in the Division, which ensure full compliance with internal and external governance procedures and to the benchmark against best practice requirements.
- To be accountable for the direct delivery of safe, effective clinical care providing a high quality patient experience

- Contribute to the implementation and delivery of the Divisions governance framework by supporting and promoting the development and implementation of nursing care services that reflects the principles of robust clinical governance and the required CQC standards.
- Ensure agreed systems and processes are in place to consistently provide safe, effective and high-quality patient care and a culture of improvement focusing on the organisational quality KPIs to measure practice and variation to inform the need for improvement projects.
