Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Head of Medical Workforce to lead and coordinate all medical workforce related issues including; implementation of terms and conditions, appraisal and revalidation. You will work closely with the Medical Director and Clinical Directorates to ensure the provision of a consistent, professional and effective medical staffing service. As the Head of Medical Workforce in our Trust you will have the opportunity to work with highly engaged Executives and a fully supportive Chief Executive.

Main duties of the job
This role will support the organisation in delivering the strategic medical workforce agenda to include:
- Medical workforce planning and management of key performance indicators
- Supporting clinical divisions in the efficient use of electronic systems for effective rota and leave management for medical staff
- Annual Appraisal and Medical Revalidation
- Consultant and SAS Job Planning cycles aligned to capacity and demand utilising e-job planning portal.
- Explore and evaluate medical workforce development solutions, including the development of non-medical roles which contribute to effective patient management and flow across the organisation.
- Develop and share best practice in regards to medical workforce development.
The post holder will have specialist knowledge and experience on Medical HR issues and will provide expert advice to the Clinical Directorates to ensure the provision of a consistent, professional and effective human resource service in relation to medical staffing issues, offering solutions to colleagues and service users.
The Head of Medical Workfoce will provide leadership to the medical workforce team to ensure the delivery of timely workforce interventions and programmes, including cover for planned absences, workforce recruitment strategies for hard to fill vacancies and training initiatives.
