An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust as Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse (Band 7).

The Tissue Viability Nurse is a key member of the Corporate Nursing and Quality Leadership Team, is professionally accountable to the Executive Director of Nursing & Quality and Deputy Director of Nursing and will lead the delivery and development of the Tissue Viability service.

The service aims are to provide support and advice on all aspects of Tissue Viability and complex wound care within an acute setting with a particular drive across local and national agendas to reduce hospital acquired pressure damage. To be an outstanding provider of excellent patient safety, delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time.

This opportunity is a permanent full time post of 37.5 hours per week, based mainly at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool (also supporting CCC hub sites).

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for providing professional nursing leadership, strategic direction, and expertise on all aspects of care and treatment of people with Tissue Viability/wounds across all the patient pathways.

With a passion for tissue viability, wound care you will lead/deliver our Tissue Viability service additionally provide education, training, and support to clinical staff.

An expert in this field, with the motivation, enthusiasm, and innovation to develop in this service, demonstrate evidence of leading change successfully and able to take a strategic view on service development.

The postholder will participate in system work across Cheshire and Merseyside and engage and collaborate with national, regional and local subject matter experts to ensure the Tissue Viability Service at CCC is optimised across all Trust sites. The post holder being based mainly at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool and will also support all the CCC hub sites.

The successful candidate will be a credible role model, passionate and engaging, proactive and innovative and an experienced leader, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to deliver outstanding patient care. You will translate national and regional policy, practice and directives into local understanding and successful implementation. You will possess relevant professional qualifications plus additional specialist leadership/management qualifications/knowledge, acquired through training and experience.
