Job summary

This is a superb opportunity to develop your career in Implant and Equipment Coordination for Theatres as developmental role by joining our busy Operating Theatres Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, based in Truro, Cornwall.

As the Theatre Implants and Loan Kit Coordinator - you will have an important role in ensuring that the kits requested are available, communicate/ escalate for any issues, ensure purchase orders are received by the company and the to keep traceability of the kits and implants used in the department.

You will also be expected to identify, help in investigation and work with the Operating Theatre Manager for any discrepancies.

As a developmental role - the post-holder will be expected carry out duties of the job and review performance after a year of employment with Theatre Manager.

Main duties of the job

As the Theatre Implants and Loan Kit Coordinator for Theatres - you will hold a vital role in overseeing and supporting the Theatre Team in facilitating the need or demand for kits and equipment required for surgery. This also includes stocks reports and analysis, savings initiatives, quality improvement initiatives; and work in line with Trust values, polices and procedures at all times.

The post holder will act as a liaison with third party companies, the Surgical and Theatre Team, and Theatre Manager to ensure that the required kits and implants are available and escalate concerns if otherwise.

Moreover, the post holder will be expected to undertake incident investigation and work collaboratively with Theatre Manager to ascertain root causes and action as appropriate.

You will be expected to support IMS Team, Clinical Teams amongst others with stock management and ensure that any discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
