Job summary

Under the direction of the Senior Research Data Officer (SRDO) and Research Data Officer (RDO), the main responsibility of this role is to provide research data support to the research delivery and data teams. This includes transcribing, sense checking and uploading data to electronic systems and databases in a timely manner. The post holder will ensure data is accurate and meets deadlines for all active research studies within the team. You will be required to work with external stakeholders to ensure an efficient service, whilst always working to current regulatory guidance and Trust Policies and standard operating procedures (SOP's).

Main duties of the job

Data

  • Supervised data entry using computerised or paper-based systems, ensuring that the data is accurate, timely, consistent and up to date
  • Undertaking regular quality checks of own work
  • Supporting the SRDO and RDO in the uploading, checking and resolution of data and data queries from external stakeholders in a timely manner, working closely with research nurses and administrators
  • Supporting the SRDO and RDO with data locks and timely resolution of queries and monitor requests
  • Under the direction of the SDRO, uploading case report forms.
  • Assisting in sending images (Radiology/CT/MRI) internally and externally under the supervision of the SRDO and RDO
  • Using PAS, Maxims (internal systems) and other bespoke databases to extract data under the supervision of the SRDO and RDO
  • Under the direction of the SRDO and RDO, help to prepare any data required in advance of participant clinics
  • Ensuring timely and accurate data entry on to EDGE (internal research database) under the supervision of the SRDO and RDO
  • Providing appropriate cover within the data team as directed by the SRDO and RDO
  • Attending training sessions on specialist software required for specific research trial data capture

EDGE:Working with the EDGE data officer to develop an understanding of the EDGE system (internal data system)o Supporting the EDGE data officer with EDGE queries and requests and reports when requiredo Providing cover for the EDGE email account and minor queries in the absence of the EDGE Officer
