Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse for the Duchess of Cornwall Renal Unit, Treliske Hospital, Truro. The role of the Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse is pivotal within the team and we are looking for someone who has strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to problem solving, the ability to respond quickly to challenges, excellent haemodialysis skills and has extensive experience of providing a high standard of professional, effective patient centred care within this speciality.
The successful candidate will have a development plan to complete their managers passport and deputise for the unit Manager when required.
Main duties of the job
To work as an experienced, skilled member of the team, providing a high standard of holistic patient centred care to patients and families.
Ability to promote patient centred care and establish good relationships with patients and carers.
To communicate effectively at all levels with the multidisciplinary team.
To be able to take charge on a shift by shift basis.
To manage a team of both registered and unregistered nursing staff.
To be able to act as the lead nurse in an emergency situation.
To Identify and develop extended roles.
To be able to manage the patient flow within the department with consideration to target delivery.
Demonstrate a "can do attitude" consistent with RCHT values.
