Job summary

The Medical Day Unit is within the division of Specialty Medicine, Renal and Endocrine. The Unit provides care for a variety of patients from most specialties within Medicine and Specialty Medicine. Specialities included such as Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Renal, Clinical Sciences, Neurology, Endocrinology, Dermatology and Research and Development.

The Unit provides care for patients who are planned to attend for a variety of procedures including blood tests, diagnostic investigations, infusions, including biologic infusion, biopsy, drains and breath tests. Most of the procedures are Registered Nurse-led which requires a fast forward planning and thinking individual whose is able to adapt to sudden changes and challenges within the patient activity.

Working on this unit will provide opportunities to develop new clinical skills or consolidate existing professional knowledge, and skills. It is a busy Unit with Registered Nurses only and therefore the successful individual will be required to be flexible within the role to cover all activities including administration, housekeeping and filing during the patient' time on the Unit.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to employ enthusiastic and motivated registered nurses who will work to ensure that high quality, patient centred care is consistently provided and have the 'I can do philosophy' and have good time management skills.

The Unit is committed to personal development and this post will provide an opportunity for the successful candidates to develop their management /leadership and nursing skills.

  • Assessing & Mentoring qualification

Experience
