We are looking for amazing staff to continue our journey and deliver the radical vision that will see the newly established Intermediate Care Facility and Health Care Support Worker Training Centre become embedded as a new model of care in Cornwall. This newly built and fitted out 28-bedded inpatient facility will continue to be delivered on the top floor of the Tremenal Unit at Royal Cornwall Hospital's NHS Trust.
Wheal Vor, is a 28 bedded ward caring for mostly older people living with frailty who are transitioning form hospital to home. The ward is also home of the County's first dedicated Health Care Support Worker Training Centre, supporting those new-to-care roles and apprentices transition themselves into long-term jobs and future careers in the NHS.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of an integrated nurse and therapy team that delivers reablement-minded intermediate care and support to the ward's inpatients. In addition, you will be an integral part of the HCSW Training Centre and support the work of the ward's dedicated Practice Education Team. You will be supported by a Clinical Matron linked directly to the Ward, the Ward Leader and the Ward's Associate Clinical Professor/Consultant Nurse, with overall medical responsibility of the inpatients. This role requires you to be flexible, resilient and forward thinking.

Are an experienced HCSW with a NVQ 3 (or equivalent).
Are 'reablement minded'.
Are committed to educating others.
Have recent clinical (acute and or community) experience.
Have a commitment to the highest standards of care supporting older people living with frailty in hospital.
Are able to work well under pressure in a complex and changing environment.
Have excellent organisational and time management skills, being able to prioritise demanding workloads to meet deadlines.
Enjoy sharing their care knowledge and experience with others.
