Job summary
The role of the Nursing Associate is to work with the multidisciplinary team and the Tissue Viability Team to assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care in line with service and patient needs, as agreed with supervising clinicians. The Nursing Associate has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan of patients and across fields of nursing, providing holistic and person-centred care and supporting people of all ages in a variety of settings. Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to their area of employment and will work to the NMC Code of Conduct.
The post holder will be based in the specialty of Tissue Viability working under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Specialist Nurse.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
Support the provision of the Tissue Viability service as directed by the CNS.
Support pressure ulcer harms reduction within the trust through validation of incidents according to Trust policy, making clinical decisions of categorisation through specialist pressure ulcer knowledge and current evidence base.
Work closely with ward staff to support pressure ulcer prevention acting as a role model in clinical practice.
Support pressure ulcer and wound care education needs within the trust.
Contribute to follow up assessments of wounds as directed by the Tissue Viability CNS and Specialist Nurse.
