Specialty Doctor in Oral Surgery

Job summary

The successful candidate will be part of the Oral and Maxillofacial team who provide comprehensive out-patient and day case service in a busy hospital department. We are seeking to appoint a full-time Specialty Doctor to work within a committed team of Consultants in Maxillofacial and Oral SurgeryandOrthodontics,aswellasothermedical, nursing and administration staff.

TherewillbearequirementtoundertakeclinicaldutiesatWestCornwallHospital, and St Austell Hospital.

All aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery are covered and you will be required to work both independently and in Consultant led clinics, and be responsible for diagnosis, prevention and treatment plans.

Main duties of the job

Inadditionyouwill:

  • Sharewithcolleague'sresponsibilityforthedaytodaymanagementoftheDepartment of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Contributetotheteachingandtrainingofjuniorstafformedical students.
  • Have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
  • ActivelyparticipateinbothdepartmentalandTrustmattersconcerningClinical Governance and audit.
  • Attendmeetingsasappropriate.
  • Fulfildutiesof weeklytimetable.
  • Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are thereforeactivelyencouragedandsupportedtoimplementnewwaysofworkingwithin their field of expertise

The post is full-time covering generalout-patients, paediatric surgery, anaesthetic theatre as well as main theatre sessions. You will have full GDC registration and a minimum of two years' experience.
