Job summary
Our Hygiene Therapist will cover the duties as laid down by the General Dental Council Regulations, including all extended duties for Dental Hygienists and Therapists. This will include providing direct patient contact, including direct line responsibility for any emergencies, arrangements, and decisions during clinical sessions. They will support all dental specialities within the department, orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, restorative dentistry and oral maxillofacial surgery. The priority group being head and neck cancer patients.
This is a 7.5 hour per week post
Main duties of the job
The job holder is accountable for own actions without direct supervision and accountable for the actions of unqualified members of staff.
o Ensures correct stock level management and ordering of supplies.
o Responsible for a group of patients undergoing complex, highly specialised, multidisciplinary restorative dental treatment.
o Use advanced knowledge and skills to assess clinical situations and select and adapt appropriate complex techniques to adapt the treatment to the specific needs of the patient.
