Job summary
Applications are invited for the posts of Clinical Fellow (ST 3 and above level) in Trauma and Orthopaedics at The Royal Cornwall Hospital
We have 3 posts available. 1 post with a focus on trauma experience and 2 research posts, which are 60% clinical with a focus on trauma and 40% research. The two research fellows share an on-call slot on the rota giving a 50% on-call commitment. These posts are ideally suited to people looking to develop and obtain an ST3 post as many previous fellows have been successful
Royal Cornwall Hospital is based across three sites, with the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro being the main DGH, with two further hospitals, St Michael's Hospital in Hayle and West Cornwall Hospital, in Penzance. The trauma service is delivered at Royal Cornwall Hospital and orthopaedic elective surgery is undertaken at St Michael's Hospital. In addition to working on your own projects, research posts support an array of NIHR-approved RCTs and so develop a thorough and CV-enhancing understanding of research within a nationwide context.
Trauma and Orthopaedics undertake approximately 5,500 elective operations per year, treat circa 2,700 trauma patients, and see approximately 13,700 new out-patients and 32,000 follow-up patients.
