This is an exciting new opportunity to join our Neurology Administration team
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated person who can offer excellent administration skills to assist in the provision of a comprehensive service. This post holder will support the clinical team & nursing team in this new and exciting role and work as part of a well-established team.
To be successful you will have excellent organisational and communication skills. You will have a flexible and professional approach to the work and enjoy the variety of communicating with a wide range of people both internal and external to the Trust. This includes being the first point of contact for all forms of communication, ensuring the effective day to day running of the MS & Epilepsy service and efficient day to day management of the MS database.
The vacancy is a full time and fixed term position.
Main duties of the job
Facilitate and co-ordinate the care pathway of patients on disease modifying treatment
Facilitate and assist the team with the implementation of emerging MS -DMT treatments
Establish and ensure the continuation of effective communication between the MDT team, external prescription Management Companies, funding sources, regional physicians, regional nurses, GPs and the patient
Co-ordinate applications of funding for high-cost drugs
Deal with non-clinical queries from patients, their carers, general practitioners and members of the MDT team.
Take an active role in supporting clinical trials, working in close liaison with Trust research office to promote and access research and clinical trail activity

- Collation and subsequent return of patient case notes where applicable

Communication

The post holder will be required to give non-clinical advice to patients contacting specialty service areas
System Utilisation
Develop robust knowledge and understanding of both Trust and National Access Targets in particular the RTT pathways
Develop and maintain expert knowledge and use of Trust IT Systems e.g. PAS, Radar, Maxims, CCAT, MS Database and specialist systems in use in clinical areas
Assist the care group with the implementation of new IT systems as required
