Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Dietitian to work in the newly created colorectal prehabilitation team. This will be a part time role for a period of 18 months, and will be considered as a fixed term contract or a secondment. This Dietitian role will involve working as part of a wider MDT including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, nursing staff and Surgical teams.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a highly specialist dietetic interventions & leadership in the establishment of a surgical prehabilitation service at Royal Cornwall Hospital.
- Working as an autonomous practitioner, to maintain an agreed case load for patients, performing advanced assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations, to formulate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- As required to undertake line manager duties for relevant teams, act as a clinical lead and support other teams.
- To work alongside the Inpatient Therapy Manager and Deputy Inpatient Therapy Manager, and the Professional Lead, in planning, co-coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service.
- To be instrumental in the on-going development of a range of nutritional services and practices that provide high quality care and interventions across the Trust.
