Job summary
Applicants are invited to apply for a Consultant Gynaecologist with a Special Interest in Gynaecological Oncology post at the Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust, which provides a comprehensive secondary and tertiary service for patients with gynaecological cancer.
Our new colleague will work alongside the two sub-specialist gynaecological oncologists, Miss Sophia Julian and Miss Jane Borley with Miss Alexandra Glover, consultant gynaecologist, to provide cancer care for the women of Cornwall as well as referrals from Devon and beyond.
The successful candidate will be part of the West Peninsula Gynaecological Oncology Centre linked with Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
Main duties of the job
The consultant will be heavily involved with our innovative diagnostic services, to include vulval clinic, cervical assessment clinic, colposcopy clinic, virtual PMB clinic, outpatient hysteroscopy clinic and general gynaecology clinic. They will provide surgical treatment for gynaecological cancers at unit lead level. He or she will be a team player, working closely with all colleagues in gynaecology and other specialties where appropriate and will take an equal share in the daytime and out of hours general gynaecology on call rota but will not provide any obstetric elective or emergency care.
