Job summary

This is a superb opportunity to develop your career in Project Administration by joining our busy Major Capital Projects Team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, based in Truro.

As a Major Capital Projects Business Administrator, you will hold a key role in supporting the Major Capital Projects Team in the delivery of a wide range of major capital and operational projects by providing a range of administrative and business services to enable the effective operation of the team. Working for the Head of Hospital Reconfiguration you will be organising diaries; booking and taking notes for meetings; providing a telephone reception point of contact for the Major Capital Projects Team; maintaining data files and databases, preparing reports and undertaking correspondence.

Main duties of the job

You will have an important role in representing the Major Capital Projects Teamto callers and visitors and will have the opportunity to work with a variety of teams, both within and external to the Trust, whilst developing your knowledge and skills in the hospital environment. A high level of commitment to the Major Capital Projects Team and the ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive and commercial information will be essential.

Essential

  • Good level of general education including GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above or equivalent.
  • RSA Stage 3 Typing or equivalent or equivalent plus Stage 3 Audio Typing or equivalent, with advanced keyboard skills
  • NVQ3 or equivalent administration qualification or experience, plus significant experience in a range of office/business administration

Desirable

  • Higher level typing or administrative qualifications

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative environment and working with computerised data systems
  • Experience in taking, transcribing and circulating minutes of meetings.
  • Experienced in the use of Procure 22/23 or willingness to undertake training.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with a range of senior managers within a large NHS or public sector organisation
  • Demonstrable experience working in the NHS.
  • Experienced in construction project administration, and Procure 22/Procure 23 JCT and NEC contracts
