Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Physiotherapy Rheumatology Service (maternity leave cover), for a Physiotherapist to work as Clinical and Team Lead at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is a part-time (15 hours per week) 9-month fixed-term post which will be based at Treliske Hospital, commencing May 2024.
Main duties of the job
To manage all aspects of your clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your work.
To undertake specialist assessment of adult and paediatric rheumatology patients with Rheumatological, musculoskeletal and highly complex presentations.
To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical findings to formulate an accurate physiotherapy diagnosis, developing individualised treatment and management plans.
To ensure a high standard of care for patients, supporting and supervising more junior staff with their caseload of patients.
To manage clinical risk within the service andundertake line manager duties for the team.
To be responsible for maintaining own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, sharing clinical specialist skills and knowledge gained with team members, in order to continuously improve the Physiotherapy Rheumatology Service.
To be a specialist resource for community based physiotherapistsand other healthcare professionals in the management of adult and paediatric patients with Rheumatological, musculoskeletal and complex presentations.
To carry out any special duties associated with the post (e.g. overseeing recruitment to Band 6 rotation, representing the therapy service at various forums or meetings).
To be an active member of the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust Bank Holiday and weekend orthopaedic cover.
