Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, hardworking and committed individual, with previous catering experience of working within a busy catering environment to join the Catering Department. To carry out a wide range of general catering duties within a busy department, ensuring a high level of food safety following set procedures and specifications. To pick, pack and deliver food orders for each ward and area as required. To promote and maintain best practice in all areas including food preparation, portioning and storage. You will be required to work in temperature controlled environments, this is a physically demanding role with long periods of time spent on your feet.
This is a part time post working 15 hours per week to include alternate weekends.
Main duties of the job
Working under the supervision of the Catering Managemet Team and will beresponsible for picking patient food orders and correctly loading them into regeneration ovens within Royal Cornwall NHS Trust.You will ensure that high quality Food Hygiene and cleaning standards aremaintained at all times.
You will be required to work within a team and will need good communication skills to maintain working relationships within the team and present a positive and professional image to patients and visitors.Visual checks of all products to ensure quality standards and patient safety are maintained.
The post requires the ability for frequent prolonged periods of physical work with the ability to respond and deal with situations as they arise. The postholder should be able to work on their own initiative, working independently with minimal supervision.
