An opportunity has
arisen (18.75 hours per week) for a Critical Care Nurse to
join our Rehabilitation after Critical Illness (RaCi) team. The RaCi Co-ordinator will work across South Tyneside and Sunderland Critical Care Units
to co-ordinate individualised rehabilitation plans for patients at risk of
developing physical and/or non-physical morbidity due to critical illness. This
includes working within the Critical Care teams and the wider inpatient areas
within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The RaCi Co-ordinator must have in-depth knowledge of critical care, and
rehabilitation needs of those recovering from critical illness.
Experience in critical
care is essential with special interest in rehabilitation and long term
outcomes of critically-ill patients.
You must have excellent interpersonal skills.

- Degree in Nursing studies or relevant clinical Degree.
- Mentorship Certificate/Practice Assessor training or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Completion of National Competency Framework for Registered Nurses in Adult Critical Care in Steps 1, 2 and 3.
- Post-Qualification Critical Care Course which meets the requirements of National Standards for Adult Critical Care Nurse Education.
- History taking and physical assessment/clinical skills.
- Experience of working within the Critical Care Outreach Team either by rotation or shadowing.
