An opportunity has
arisen for a member of Critical Care staff to join
the Critical Care Outreach Team at South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation
Trust.
You will
deliver a nurse-led critical care outreach service, to support and improve
services for level one and level two patients on the Ward, who are at risk of
deteriorating.
You will provide
highly-specialised interventions and support with appropriate physical
assessment, observation and treatment of acutely / critically ill patients. You will contribute to the developments of the CCOT service and education
throughout Trust when required.
Key
Requirements: Critical Care nurse with significant Band 6
critical care experience.
Hours
per week: 37.5 hours per week, but
would consider part-time. Must be able to work day and night duty, including
public holidays and weekends.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to provide high-quality nursing care to patients at
ward level and within critical care throughout the Trust. You will be required
to support and improve services for patients at risk of deterioration, and
those who may need escalation to a higher level of care. You will
be required to provide highly-specialised interventions and support with the
appropriate physical assessment, observation and treatment for acutely-unwell
patients, and support those stepping down from a higher level of care. You will need to have significant critical care experience at a senior
level.
The CCOT service provides 24/7 cover to both
Sunderland and South Tyneside sites, so rotation is required. The Post also
requires you to be able to work a range of shifts including night
duties, weekends and bank holidays.

- Post-Qualification Critical Care course which meets the requirements of the National Standards for Adult Critical Care Nurse Education.
