We are looking to recruit a registered nurse with excellent communication and leadership skills, to join our Pre-Operative Assessment Team.

Our Pre-Operative Assessment practitioners play a vital role in delivering safe and effective care to patients who are waiting for a surgical intervention. The Nursing team ensure patients are optimised and in the best health possible to undergo surgery.

We strive to provide the best care to our patients and are continuously developing our services.

You will join a multidisciplinary team who also practice patient-centered care and share the Nursingteam's passion for gold standard practice.

The Service covers three main hospital sites which are Sunderland Royal Hospital, South Tyneside District Hospital and Durham Treatment Centre. You would be required to work across all three sites, however you would predominantly be based at Sunderland and South Tyneside Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

The Pre-assessment unit is a key service within the Division of Theatres, this Post operates within a team structure, and you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will possess initiative and the ability to work autonomously, but also be a team player.

Main hours of working are Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, however there could be times a weekend service to provide.
