The Division of Theatres and Critical Care is seeking an exceptional individual to lead our dedicated theatre teams. We are committed to providing outstanding patient care and are looking for a Theatre Team Leader to join our team at STSFT.

As a Theatre Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the operating theatre team, ensuring smooth and efficient running of operating lists in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. You will provide clinical leadership, support, and mentorship to junior staff, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.

We are a busy operating department and provide care for patients undergoing a range of surgical specialties including Trauma & Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Maternity, Urology, ENT, Vascular and Paediatrics, as well as Emergency and Robotics.

Main duties of the job

Leading and co-ordinating the Theatre team, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources and skill mix.

Providing expert clinical knowledge and skills in scrub and circulating for a wide range of surgical procedures.

Ensuring adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety standards within the operating theatre.

Acting as a role model and mentor for junior staff, supporting their development and providing constructive feedback.

Participating in the planning and implementation of services improvements and quality initiatives.

Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.

Liaising effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal health care.

This position will involve out-of-hours working and an on-call commitment (respectively) in accordance with the Departmental roster.
