Job summary
South
Tyneside and Sunderland FT seeks an application from a Doctor who
has completed core training in Anaesthesia or equivalent. You will predominately participate in the Critical Care service,
primarily based on the South Tyneside hospital site, with some Anaesthesia duties
in Sunderland if service pressures allow.
You may need to provide medical care for patients receiving level 3
care being transferred between Trust sites and to tertiary centres, and should
be able to practice at the level of an ST3 in intensive care medicine.

Main duties of the job
This Post will allow you to further-develop your clinical
skills and experience in a supportive and dynamic department with a track
record for excellence in training. As a Specialty Doctor you will be entitled
to study leave and the Post attracts 1 SPA per week. Clinical and educational
supervision will be provided, with opportunities for development in leadership
and management, quality improvement and medical education.
The Post is based over both acute sites within the Trust. The out-of-hours resident duties of this Post
will primarily be based at the six-bed Intensive Care Unit at South Tyneside
Hospital. Some activity may be delivered
in the 16-bed Intensive Care Unit in Sunderland. Sessions in Anaesthesia may also be available
if service pressures allow.
You
will work in a team of trainees from the Northern School of Anaesthesia &
ICM, Trust Doctors and Consultant Intensivists. It is envisaged you will gain a
portfolio of competences and experiences that will enhance your future career.
You must be fully-registered with the
General Medical Council with a licence to practice. Applications from
