Doctor in Anaesthesia / Critical Care (fixed term commencing as soon as possible)

have an opportunity for a Trust Doctor post at CT2 and above level to work
within our Anaesthetic and Critical Care Teams.
The
post is ideally suited to those that have completed CT2 training and are
looking for additional skills and experience. It is envisaged you will gain a
portfolio of competences and experiences that will enhance your future career.
South Tyneside and Sunderland is a large Acute NHS Trust consisting of two main and two smaller hospital sites. The Anaesthetic Department provides a service for a wide range of surgical services including ENT/ OMFS, General and Bariatric Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Trauma and Orthopaedics and Urology.
There are 22 critical care beds within the Department with 16 of these in Sunderland Royal Hospital.

Main duties of the job
This post offers an exciting opportunity to further develop your skills and gain clinical experience, together with protected study leave time which can be tailored to your specific needs and offer development in leadership, management, audits and teaching. Clinical deployment will be in both anaesthesia and critical care, including participation in the critical care out of hours rota. There will be the ability to attend additional training courses both internal and external. The post is based at Sunderland Royal Hospital, one of our two main hospital sites.
The Department is large, dynamic and friendly with a strong emphasis on educational attainment and career development. There is an ongoing programme of audit and research with many opportunities to get involved.
You will have a designated Educational Supervisor during your appointment. Regular timetabled teaching sessions will take place.
