The Opportunity has arisen within the directorate of
ophthalmology for a 37.5 Band 2/3 Health Care Assistant post on Haygarth Ward a
22 bedded adult and Paediatric Ward situated within Sunderland Eye Infirmary, the department offers a 24 hour service
and staff work on a rota to ensure service needs are met.

Main duties of the job
This is a band 2 role rising to band 3 after 6 months once the successful candidate has completed the Care Certificate (within 3 months of start date) and consolidation of learning (3 months).
Sunderland Eye Infirmary is a small friendly hospital where
you will be working alongside medical staff that are responsible for excellent
ophthalmic services in the North East.
Sunderland Eye Infirmary is both nationally and
internationally renowned and offers specialities in Cataract, Medical Retinal,
Glaucoma, Ocular Motility, Paediatric and Oculoplastic Surgery.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated and
enthusiastic HCA, who will commence as a band 2 and upon completion of their
care certificate will progress to a band 3.We require an excellent communicator
with a proven ability to lead, motivate and support nursing staff. You will cover both weekdays, nightshifts and
rotate into Preassessment Clinic to assist the registered nurse.
