We seek to appoint an enthusiastic band 4 (1.0wte) Scheduling Manager on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will join our friendly scheduling team, based at SEI. A key area of focus for this role will be managing all aspects of the scheduling team, ensuring the efficient processing of ophthalmology appointments. Main duties of the job

This role will manage the scheduling team, ensuring that patients are seen in a timely manner and that all available appointments are utilised. They will also work with the Directorate Management team to monitor capacity and demand, preparing information for meetings and escalating concerns appropriately. The postholder will supervise staff on a day to day basis, undertaking 1:1 meetings, managing absence and undertaking annual appraisals.

They will also provide support to the scheduling staff, using their knowledge of scheduling to provide excellence in customer care, effectively and compassionately dealing with telephone queries from patients and their carers. We are seeking applications from candidates with previous NHS scheduling experience who hold GCSE English and Maths (Grade C and above) and have level 3 qualifications in admin or equivalent experience.

The Ophthalmology Directorate comprises approximately 300 staff working across a range of subspecialities, and provides the highest overall volume of outpatient appointments within the Trust, the scheduling team therefore being a fast paced and exciting team to join.
