E56 at Sunderland Royal Hospital, South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation
Trust.

progressive 24 bedded care of the elderly ward and by joining us you will have

The Ward Manager has 24 hour accountability for the
ward and the role is clinically based with the emphasis on working alongside the
team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and staff support with a
focus on the on-going development and clinical support of our nurses.
The Ward Manager should
be someone who is excited by the prospect of leading a dedicated ward team in
the delivery of high-quality care and continuing improvement of the service.
Main duties of the job
This role would be suitable for a candidate with Older Persons experience and a strong track record of working collaboratively to maintain and develop safe, effective and compassionate services.The post holder must be able to demonstrate proactive multidisciplinary working, possesscommunication and organisational skills with evidence of a degree qualificationor currently be on the degree pathway in nursing.

responsible for leading the ward team and providing day to day management for the
Nursing team. This includes but not limited to:
Allocation of
staff to teams, and ensuring they are working within their level of
competence/skill mix
Working alongside
the MDT, to ensure patients receive appropriate care
Liaising with the
operational teams, to ensure timely admission, transfer and discharge of
patients
