are excited to offer an opportunity for a dynamic and proactive individual to
join our team as a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse on our 27 bedded care of
the elderly ward.
Working
with the Ward Manager and wider MDT, you will support the operational and
clinical management of the ward, providing an environment of excellence safety
and improvement.
You
will have previous experience working in a care of the elderly ward setting and
act as a role model, demonstrating the Trusts values in action and inspire
others to deliver outstanding care through effective leadership, mentorship and
communication.
Main duties of the job
Your responsibilities
will include:
Clinical
Leadership supporting the ward manager in the day-to-day coordination of the
ward, ensuring safe and effective patient care is always maintained.
Staff
Support and Supervision assisting with the supervision and professional
development of nursing staff, HCAs and students through mentorship appraisal,
supervision and teaching.
Patient
Advocacy and Care acting as key point of contact for patients and their
families and ensure good communication with patients families and the wider
MDT
Patient
Safety - coordinate the delivery of care ensuring evidence-based practice and
adherence to Trust Policies and guidelines. Manage and escalate clinical
incidents, safeguarding concerns and patient feedback appropriately
Take
charge of the ward regularly in the absence of the ward Manager and ensure
appropriate staffing and skill mix for safe patient care.
Promote
a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence participating in
audits and quality improvement projects.
