Cardiology Data Co-ordinator

Job summary

Part Time hours-20hrs per week-An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Cardiology Data Co-Ordinator based in the Cardiac Centre at Sunderland Royal Hospital. You will be responsible participating in new and existing national audits such as MINAP, CRM and BCIS, identifying, collecting and inputting a wide range of data from various sources/departments and inputting them into the appropriate cardiology databases.You will work alongside our Admin team and wider clinical workforce.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, enthusiastic and have excellent organisational skills along with a key eye for detail. You will be computer literate and have previous knowledge of national audits such as NICOR, CRM and BCIS along with experience of Microsoft packages. You will have an NVQ2 qualification and be educated to GCSE A-C level or equivalent, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work under pressure and be adaptable. Knowledge of cardiology terminology and NHS computer systems is desirable as you will be inputting and collecting data from our in-house systems. You will also be required to undertake reception duties, welcoming patients into the department as well as answering the phone and dealing with queries so a positive, friendly attitude is essential.

Main duties of the job

You will be based in the Cardiac Centre at Sunderland Royal Hospital working 20 hrs per week Monday to Friday. In return we offer an attractive salary and 27 days annual leave for the right person.

To work with the Cardiology team to collect, prepare, validate and submit data from Hospital Information resources, relating to percutaneous coronary intervention, pacemaker and device implants, Myocardial Ischemia and other related cardiology audits Performance monitoring nationally and locally To work collaboratively with external agencies to submit data Clinical Governance Administration duties as appropriate to workload within the department, such as sourcing of case notes, contacting patients and typing. On a daily basis identify, collect and input a wide range of data from various sources/departments and input into the appropriate Cardiology databases With the Clinical leads, prepare reports on a monthly basis for use across the Trust, PCT and audit network.

Record accurate data/information to provide robust management information andensure quality standards are met.

Participate fully in any new and existing national Audits, such as MINAP, CRM andBCIS.

To ensure data quality and processes are consistent for cross site Sunderland patientpathways.

Produce and disseminate audit reports to be sent out to individuals and Departments.

Share data from the National audits locally and with the clinical teams.

Participate in a least one network wide audit for each year

To collate, quality check and upload site-specific clinical information to the nationalDatabase.

Facilitate local audit as requested.

Participate in collation of patient survey data, participate in the smooth running of theservice and work closely with the Angiography & Diagnostic Cardiology Admin teams,cross covering when necessary.
