Were seeking a
dynamic and motivated Deputy Administration Manager to join our Trauma &
Orthopaedics Department at Sunderland Royal Hospital. This is a pivotal role
where youll oversee the daily operations of key administrative functions
within the Directorate, contributing to the efficient delivery of patient care.
Collaborating closely with the T&O Resource Manager, Directorate Manager
and other key stakeholders, youll ensure compliance with policies, monitor
performance, and manage resources to align with the Trusts strategic goals.
Whether its maintaining accurate scheduling, meeting national performance
targets, or supporting staff, youll play a vital role in ensuring our patients
receive outstanding service.

Main duties of the job
Leadership
& Team Management:
Oversee and mentor admin teams, manage performance, recruit staff, and ensure
mandatory training and appraisals are completed.
Pathway
& Target Management:
Monitor waiting lists and ensure compliance with national RTT, cancer, and
diagnostic targets. Lead capacity planning to maintain efficient service
delivery.
Communication
& Coordination: Act
as a key liaison between consultants, multidisciplinary teams, and admin staff.
Chair meetings, handle patient complaints, and ensure accurate data exchange.
Data &
Systems Expertise:
Serve as the Meditech V6 expert, leading system upgrades and ensuring staff are
well-trained. Use performance data to identify and address concerns
proactively.
Quality
Assurance: Ensure the
administrative function meets Trust policies, maintains confidentiality, and
supports clinical governance initiatives.
Operational
Oversight: Manage
budgets, streamline workflows, and maintain consistent service standards while
driving forward improvements.

Responsibility for the day to day

to day remedial and proactive objectives as well as any transformational
projects and other service improvements. There will be a need for close liaising
with Performance and Information Services teams to ensure adequate reporting
and data provision.
The post holder
will manage appraisal, capability and attendance management across their teams.
The post holder will be an expert super-user for Meditech V6, leading on
upgrades, training and supervision of the admin function.
