Job summary
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to work
as part of the Head and Neck cancer team alongside registered practitioners to
improve the care and experience for people with head and neck cancer. The MCCC
role involves liaison with other colleagues and departments in the hospitals,
signposts patients and ensures effective progress along their care pathway.
They would work with other professionals and provide support by dealing with
non-complex tasks to allow registered practitioners to focus their expertise on
managing complex care needs.
Macmillan has supported Trusts for a number of years to implement Cancer
Care Coordinator (CCC) roles. There are three core aspects of the role:
Provide a single point of access, including rapid re-entry into the
system for people identified as having urgent or specialist needs
Co-ordinate support for people with non-complex needs

patients working within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in the hospital

An increased number of diagnoses and more people surviving cancer have
led to national recognition that the cancer care pathway requires redesign, to
support people diagnosed with cancer effectively alongside the current
workforce that supports that.
