Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a business administrative apprentice to join our friendly team providing administration support to our Medical Secretaries in the Directorate of General Surgery.
Applicants must have excellent organisational skills, be efficient and be able to work in a focussed manner as part of a large team working to tight deadlines.You must be able to prioritise and manage a busy workload, have an excellent telephone manner and be committed to delivering the best care to patients.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are to support the Consultants Personal Medical Secretary by dealing with telephone enquiries, updating clinic information and correspondence. In addition to managing incoming and outgoing post and arranging patient appointments as necessary.
Working hours are standard weekday hours.
The duration of the apprenticeship is 16 months which is subject to regular reviews to demonstrate progress. Apprentices will commence on Annex 21 of the salary stated to support the development in the role, the postholder is required to complete L2 Customer Service Practitioner Standard over the period of the apprenticeship. Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE Minimum grade C/4) is essential for the post. Following the successful completion of the apprenticeship the apprentice will moved into a substantive position.
