is seeking to recruit a motivated and passionate individual to join our
team of Neonatal Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ANNP). This post involves
completing Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice (neonatal) at University of
Sheffield including relevant neonatal modules.
This post will be based in the neonatal department
of STSFT and the post-holder would be expected to contribute to the provision
of the service which includes nights and weekends. This post would be suitable
for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Professional who is seeking a
progression role in neonatal advanced clinical practice.
The successful candidate will be a motivated and dedicated individual with
leadership and management skills at a senior level. A passion for high quality
neonatal care, well-developed communication skills and a positive, mature and
professional attitude is required for the role.
The Neonatal Service offers a range of Neonatal
Intensive Care facilities and is the lead provider for babies requiring
intensive care from Durham, Gateshead, Northumbria and Carlisle who are 26
weeks gestation and above. There are approximately 4000 deliveries and the
Neonatal Unit has 7 ITU/HDU cots and 9 Special care cots.
Main duties of the job
This post sits within the
Neonatal Tier 1 medical rota and as a result you will be required to
participate in the care of babies throughout the service from the postnatal
wards to providing care in the intensive care areas. You would be joining an
existing practitioner workforce.
You
should be enthusiastic and flexible in your approach, with a commitment to
providing excellence in neonatal care. In return you will be joining a
friendly, supportive, highly motivated team.
Continuing professional
development is encouraged and you will be expected to participate actively in
research, quality and safety, audit and guidelines. If masters in advanced
clinical practice already achieved, it is anticipated that additional university
module completion and development in neonatal clinical skills will be required.

expert clinical management and care to patients within the speciality. They
will act as a role model for advanced practice working closely with the
multidisciplinary team and other key stakeholders.
The post holder will also be required to
achieve a wide range of core clinical competencies to enable advanced clinical assessment and examination, including but
not limited to:
Clinical data interpretation, investigation and treatment.
Resuscitation and first stage management.
Diagnosis and disease management.
Delivery of expert clinical interventions and treatments
Non-medical prescribing
The post
holder will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team. The post
holder will be expected to cover days, nights and weekend shifts in their job
