An exciting opportunity has arisen across South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust for a Delivery Suite Ward Manager. We are looking for a person who will enhance the leadership team with an empowering and engaging demeanour and a transformational leadership approach.
We are looking for an innovative Midwife who is passionate about Midwifery. Do you have expert clinical intrapartum knowledge and the leadership attributes to motivate the Team to deliver safe, effective, high-quality care? If so we would love you to apply for this role.
The Maternity services here at South Tyneside and Sunderland Trust are rapidly developing with a dynamic, motivational and forward-thinking senior team and workforce. We want you to be part of the future of the Service and help us continue to develop to meet the needs of women and their families.
Our service provides Midwifery-led care as well as Consultant-led Obstetric services to ensure personalised care to all women throughout their pregnancy and childbirth pathway.
Main duties of the job
Has 24-hour accountability for patient safety and patient experience on ward/department, including line-management of staff.
Must deliver high-quality midwifery care by ensuring appropriate systems and processes are in place to provide continuity of safe and effective care at all times.
Act as champion for professional accountability and standards, ensuring professional practices are in-line with requirements of Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and Trust Policy.
Ensure environmental standards and cleanliness of ward/department/community team are maintained in-line with Trust and National standards.
Effectively manage ward/department/sector midwifery resource, ensuring staff rotas are able to deliver safe and effective patient care.
Support and contribute to development of patient care and midwifery practice within Directorate. Contribute to Trust-wide projects as required.
Ensure staff are supported in performing to full potential. Ensure junior staff have appropriate support and supervision and are appropriately assessed.
