Job summary
The
Childrens Community Nursing Team have an exciting opportunity for a registered
childrens nurse to join our Childrens Community Nurses Team. You will be
based at Clarendon in Hebburn, but we would expect you to work across both
South Tyneside and Sunderland teams where necessary. The post is for a
permanent part-time band 6 CCN for 28.5 hr/week. South Tyneside team cover
8am-6pm, 7-days a week. The role is to facilitate early discharge from Hospital
or avoid hospital admission if safe to do so. The post holder will provide
direct nursing care to children within their family in the community setting.
The successful applicant will also support and enable families to care for
their child at home with complex health care needs, acute illness and
palliative care. They will educate persons to safely care for the child within
a variety of settings including nursery and school. They will liaise with wider
members of the multidisciplinary teams including health, social and
safeguarding teams. The successful candidate will be supported to further
develop themselves as a CCN, whilst supporting the overall Childrens Community
Nursing Teams.
Main duties of the job
The
role involves direct nursing care to children with varying healthcare needs in
a community setting. The candidate must also be able to offer support, liaise
with other professionals and give education regarding the childs needs in a
variety of settings, including school. The applicant must hold a full driving
license with access to a car.
