Job summary

An exciting apprenticeship opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our friendly reception team within the Sexual Health Services at Sunderland Royal Hospital, the post is full time and permanent. The sexual health clinic is a very busy service providing sexual health screening and contraception services to the residents of Sunderland as well as out of area. We are looking for a committed and motivated individual to join the team providing high quality administrative duties in the service.

The duration of the apprenticeship is 18 months which is subject to regular reviews to demonstrate progress. Apprentices will commence on Annex 21 of the salary stated and to support the development in the role, the post holder is required to complete L2 Customer Service Practitioner Standard over the period of the apprenticeship. Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE Minimum grade C/4) is essential for the post. Following the successful completion of the apprenticeship the apprentice will moved into a substantive position.

Apprentices will undertake an initial structured departmental induction and training programme throughout the apprenticeship to provide efficient and effective administrative support within Sexual Health Services at Sunderland Royal Hospital.

This will involve carrying out admin and reception duties such as meeting/greeting patients and visitors to the unit, booking patients in via the electronic patient systems within the Sexual Health Service as and when required.

To answer telephone calls dealing with appointments and answering any queries or diverting the call to the appropriate health professional/service.
