Job summary

Applications are invited for the Post of Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.

The Trust is seeking an Applicant with a CCT or equivalent in Paediatrics and subspecialty training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine (or to be able to demonstrate equivalent training post-CCT). You will be based at Sunderland Royal Hospital in the Paediatric Emergency Department (PED).

Main duties of the job

The PED at Sunderland Royal Hospital is situated separately to the main adult ED with a multidisciplinary team staffing the unit. There are currently approx. 32,000 attendances per annum. All paediatric GP and 999 referrals and self-presenters come through the PED.

You will need full GMC registration with a Licence to Practise and be included on the Specialist Register CCT in Paediatric Emergency Medicine OR CCE in Emergency Medicine with PEM sub-specialty training OR CCT in general Paediatrics with substantial PEM experience. MRCPCH, FRCEM or equivalent
