Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint 6 (ST2 level (SHO)
Specialty doctors to join a 6 person rota in our forward thinking Emergency Department
team. This is a fixed term post staring from 5 February 2025 until 4th February 2026.
We are looking for a
hardworking, enthusiastic and friendly team player. Applications are invited
from doctors with MB BS or equivalent qualification, who are registered with
the GMC and have 1 year FY 1 level experience. You will join a team of 5 Consultants,
13 Junior Doctors (FY2, GPVTS trainees & Trust SHOs). With the dedicated
nursing teams we provide comprehensive acute services to a population of around
155,000 in the South Tyneside area.

and forward thinking Emergency team.
This is fixed term post for 12 months based at South Tyneside Adult
Emergency Department starting from 5th February 2025.
We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic,
and friendly team player. Applications are invited from doctors with MB BS or
equivalent qualification, who are registered with the GMC and have
1 year FY 1 level experience.
You will join a team of 5 Consultants,
6 middle grade doctors, 15 Junior Doctors (FY2, GPVTS trainees & Trust
SHOs). With the dedicated nursing teams, we provide comprehensive acute
services to a population of around 155,000.

- Rotating duties in the Emergency Department, liaising with colleagues in other specialties in admission of patients.
- Clinical attendance in the department is according to the rota.
- A Junior Doctor accepts that he/she will also perform duties in occasional Emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant in consultation, where practicable, with his/her colleagues both Senior and Junior.
- It has been agreed between the professions and the Department, that while juniors accept that they will perform such duties, the Secretary of State Stresses that additional commitments arising under the subsection are exceptional and that the juniors should not be required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis.
