Job summary
We are delighted to advertise this 12
month Fixed Term opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator within Paediatrics
and PED. This role will support the education and training of our Paediatric
teams. We are looking for individuals
who are enthusiastic about improving patient care through supporting Nurse and
HCA education.
You will be a
Registered Childrens Nurse with a degree and will have a Mentorship
Certificate or will have undertaken Preceptorship training. You will be able to work clinically with
teams at ward/department level and will be supported to deliver key training
objectives by the Matron and Lead Matron
Main duties of the job
As a
Clinical Educator you will develop appropriate competency based clinical skills
education and develop relevant competency assessment documents for approval by
NEAG.

Support the Trusts Governance and Patient Safety agenda through active participation in the work of the Nurse Documentation Group and relevant training subgroups.
Maintain the delivery and quality of services provided within the care environment including the care delivered, supporting nursing standards and acting as a role model working clinically with staff where needed.
Influence change and development of practice, utilising the most recent evidence base.
Contribute to performance review of nursing staff where appropriate.
Contribute to interview panels, where appropriate in the appointment of staff and be aware of legislation and local HR policies affecting the employment of staff.
Implement evaluation audits to measure the impact of educational programmes and disseminate the results.
Support and deliver local competency based induction for new staff and students to the directorates.
As a Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) support provision of Clinical Supervision.
Identify areas of good practice and provide opportunities for staff to share this across the organisation.
