Job summary
Our Estates and Facilities services are planned to transfer to CHoICE. CHoICE is a private limited company. It is owned by South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. This transfer is planned for 1st July 2023. This post is included in that transfer. For external applicants, you will be offered NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions. These conditions will be protected under TUPE. This will be protected even if your start date is after 1st July 2023.
South Tyneside have a dedicated Domestic Service Team which work at high standard to provide a clean and safe environment for patients and staff, with a varied range of shifts providing 24 hours cover. Domestic duties include mopping, vacuuming, damp dusting, scrubbing and buffing floors, terminal cleans, deep cleans, wall washing, enhanced cleaning on a daily basis.
Salary includes enhancements for Saturday and Sunday and Bank Holidays, and hours worked after 8pm. 27 days paid annual leave are part of the contract on a pro-rata basis. There is also opportunity to join the pension scheme.
Main duties of the job
South Tyneside Domestic Department require several Domestic Assistants, who have a positive approach to work and can work as part of a team in a fast paced environment, with a friendly, approachable attitude. Full training is provided. There are a range of shift and hours, please see below: the successful candidates will be expected to be flexible in their approach to shifts and shift patterns to needs of the service. Posts require weekend work. Enhancements are paid for working Saturday and Sunday, Bank holidays and after 8pm.
3 x 10.5 hours Friday to Thursday 7 days on then 7 days off 4.30pm to 7.30pm
1 x 20 hours Flexi Post Monday to Sunday 5 days out of 7 ranging from 7am to 10pm.
