Job summary
Band 3 Technical Instructors.
Post 1: Care of the Older Person and Orthopaedics (50/50 split), South Tyneside Hospital.
Post 2: Care of the Older Person, Sunderland Hospital.
Post 3: Medicine/Surgery, Sunderland Hospital.
We are a friendly and welcoming Department, looking for Technical Instructors to join our inpatient teams' wards.
This is a fantastic opportunity to advance and consolidate your knowledge and skills and provide ongoing therapy to a wide range of patients.
We offer support with training and development through in-service training, appraisals and supervision.
The roles are fundamentally about supporting the provision of Therapy Services within the NHS environment, ensuring optimal patient care. The person will work as part of the therapy team and under the supervision of a qualified Therapist, at times carrying your own delegated caseload of patients with non-complex conditions (note: includes weekend working).
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the Physiotherapy Team, have a caseload of patients, give high-quality care and facilitate discharge.
The main duties include:
To be responsible for the assessment and treatment of your own caseload, and to support the Physiotherapists as required. To provide any mobility aids to patients.
To undertake admin tasks, other non-clinical duties and control stock levels of equipment.
To supervise more junior therapy support staff.
To comply with Trust policies.
